RCBC continues to empower more Filipinos with advanced digital banking solutions through its enhanced online banking app that now enables account opening in just minutes.
With just one government-issued ID, clients get to open a customizable bank account with zero-maintaining balance. Subject to verification, an account number is issued right away and gets activated in just a few minutes, which provides instant access to the RCBC Online Banking’s cash in facility, fund transfers, bills payment and buy load features for up to P10,000 only.
The bank has eliminated the need for branch visits or video conferencing. Upon completion of the application, account limits will be lifted within 24 hours, giving depositors full access to RCBC’s Online Banking facility. This will enable them to do advanced banking transactions such as converting foreign exchange, investing in UITFs, cardless withdrawal, paying for shopping just by scanning a QR, among others.
“The universal bank has always been steadfast in responding to the needs of the Filipino people, and by investing and building a superior digital banking experience, we are not only promoting safety during the pandemic but easy access to a bank deposit for everyone,” said RCBC’s Chief Innovation and Inclusion Officer, Lito Villanueva.
To encourage more Filipinos to start saving online, RCBC will be offering a cash back promotion where new account holders who open an account digitally with an initial deposit can get an additional credit of up to P500 on their account. The offer is for new account holders who open an account online with an initial deposit, until November 30, 2021.
RCBC’s mobile banking app is currently one of the most comprehensive banking apps in the industry. In 2020, the app became even more powerful with the addition of features such as time deposit account opening, check image deposit, and unit investment trust funds (UITF) portfolio management.
For two consecutive years, the bank has been gaining recognition from international and local award giving bodies, for its efforts on digital acceleration. At the height of the pandemic, RCBC achieved exponential transaction growth in its major digital services such as fund transfers via InstaPay and PESONet.
