National Museum of the Philippines reopens under safety protocols

National Museum of the Philippines

On March 2, The National Museum of the Philippines reopens its doors to visitors after almost a year due to Covid-19 pandemic.

With the limited reopening of the following locations — the National Museum of Anthropology, National Museum of Fine Arts, and the National Museum of Natural History visitors, long ensconced indoors, might consider a trip to the museum a form of travel through time.

They said regional museums will also reopen soon, while the National Planetarium will remain closed until cinemas and theaters are allowed to operate in the National Capital Region as mandated by the Covid-19 IATF.

The National Museum released its guidelines for all visitors, which include online booking at reservation.nationalmuseum.gov.ph at least a day in advance. Group reservations will be limited for a maximum of five persons. Walk-ins are not allowed.

Guests at the aged 15 to 65 years old, including persons with disabilities (PWDs) are allowed to enter the museum and should follow the safety-health protocols by wearing face masks and face shields, at least 2-meter social distancing at the venue at all times.

The museum will be open from Tuesdays to Sundays from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon and 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and allowing only up to 100 visitors per museum.
