In the Philippines, some of the most meaningful conversations happen over a shared drink. Stories are exchanged, friendships are strengthened, and connections are formed in what Filipinos fondly call inuman—a tradition that goes far beyond the beverages served on the table.

This spirit of camaraderie and storytelling came alive as Savoy Hotel Manila launched Nights of Zabana, a week-long cocktail experience that marked the opening celebration of the hotel’s 8th anniversary. Held at Zabana Bar on June 1, the event transformed an evening of cocktails into a journey across some of the country’s most beloved destinations through destination-inspired cocktails and thoughtfully curated food pairings.

“As we celebrate Savoy Hotel Manila’s 8th anniversary, Nights of Zabana brings together flavors, stories, and experiences from across our hotel portfolio for eight unforgettable nights. More than a showcase of exceptional cocktails, it is a celebration of meaningful connections, shared experiences, and the warm hospitality that defines Megaworld Hotels & Resorts,” said Den Navarro, General Manager of Savoy Hotel Manila.

The opening night gathered media partners, tourism stakeholders, industry friends, and valued Guests for what became the first collaborative cocktail showcase of its kind within Megaworld Hotels & Resorts. Participating properties included Chancellor Hotel Boracay, Belmont Hotel Iloilo, Savoy Hotel Mactan, Twin Lakes Hotel, and Savoy Hotel Manila, with each hotel presenting signature creations crafted using Zabana Rum.

The event also celebrated the stories behind every cocktail. Bartenders shared the inspiration behind their creations, drawing from the unique character of their destinations. Representing Savoy Hotel Manila were three distinctive creations—Dyip, Pedikab, and Habal, the latter offering an alcohol-free alternative. Each cocktail paid homage to familiar Filipino modes of transport, symbolizing mobility and journeys that define the metro.

What set the evening apart was its immersive and interactive format. Guests had the opportunity to engage directly with the bartenders, witness live cocktail-making demonstrations, and gain a deeper appreciation for the craftsmanship behind every glass. The experience transformed Zabana Bar into a vibrant hub where hospitality, culture, and creativity intersected.

Adding a playful element to the celebration, Guests were invited to vote for the cocktails they believed best suited three occasions: Date Nights, Business Meetings, and Chill-Out Nights. The activity highlighted the versatility of the featured drinks while encouraging Guests to discover their own personal favorites.
